2022 SMU Lacrosse

SMU Lacrosse was back in action with their first MCLA regular season game in almost two years.

Game one was against Texas Tech.

E1Q 2-1,
Halftime 5-2
E3Q 9-2
Final 11-3

Next game action will be on Friday, Feb 11 at 7p at Crum vs UT (now coached by Kyle Hartzell). Should be a tough test for the Mustangs!

Can you post a full schedule? Or ever coming to UH or Rice to play. We live in Houston and would love to take the kids to a gameΓǪor matchΓǪor whatever it’s called in lacrosse. Sorry, I know nothing about the sport, but it looks badass.

Houston and Rice play in a lower division so no games in Houston. College Station is your best bet. Should be the best conference game of the year.

My son played Lacrosse at SMU and I can categorically tell you that it is a fantastic spectator sport. Think of hockey on grass, physical contact and high scoring. No lead is safe. Go see a game and you will be hooked.

SMU with back to back home games over the weekend, meant to simulate the same scenario the team would face in Nationals (four games in six days, with the first two being back to back).

SMU struggled this weekend at Crum, losing to the Longhorns by a score of 6 - 10 and then dropping to Missouri by a score of 3 - 5.

SMU is 1-2 on the season.

I've only been able to watch one half of the Tech game before the stream went down. Wasn't available for last weekend's games.

Given its been two years since these guys have been able to play league games, I'm not super surprised on the defensive battle front. Offense takes some time to click. From the thirty minutes of game that I watched, the offensive play looked like it lacked experience in the system, out of sync and without flow.

The score reporting on mcla.us shows half of the goals on the season being assisted.
