Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisCompletely deserved. Quality player and person. Congrats!
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisThe worst kept secret in sports. He is the best player in the league by far. He should get heavy consideration as an All-American.
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisVery happy for Kendric. Good for him.
Well deserved honors for Marcus as well.
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisI hope PonyFans fully appreciate how great Davis is. This team has some excellent talent, but Davis is the guy who will we'll be comparing future stars to. "He's good, but not like KD."
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisKD is special. No question about that. SMU has been fortunate to have had some really talented PGs through the years but I sure hope KD comes back for another season and gets his name high up in the SMU career records book.
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisStill not sure who I’d give the ball at the end of the game: Nic or Kendrick.
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric Davis
Both were "money" at the FT line so I'd be comfortable with either. I've never seen anyone who could drive the lane and throw up a "floater" over bigs any better than little Nic and KD can drive and put up those step back shots as well as any PG we've had. I've tried to block that heart breaking event from my memory but was it Nic who missed the shot and then the 2nd shot opportunity at the end of our loss in the NCAA Tourney?
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisI could go back and watch the replay, but yes too painful.
From time to time though, I do like to watch the last few seconds of the NIT game against Cal. Moody shook that evening.
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisIn the interest of avoiding that argument, I'll gladly take Davis AND Moore in the same backcourt.
Good luck defending against them. ![]()
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisDon't forget about the GREAT Kato Armstrong!! That 87-88 team was pretty durn special.
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric Davis
Can't talk about Kato without also mentioning Butch Moore who might never be passed as the all-time career assists leader at SMU. Remember Butch going head to head with Vinnie "The Diesel" Johnson. Those were some pretty good times in Moody with Koncak going against Akeem and Joe Klein and Carl Wright's high flying slams
Re: AAC Player of the Year: Kendric DavisI had a swimming class with Kato. He didn’t talk much. He was a good player for sure, though.
