Fresh off the press! MUST READ!Once again this is speculation but take it for what it is worth... It is a rumor but from a valid source.
SMU will hire Rob Evans who will name Tony Benford and Dan O'Dowd as assistant coaches I heard it is a done deal Any thoughts?
Re: Fresh off the press! MUST READ!
If this is true it adds weight to the whole conspiracy argument......
How is that a conspiracy?
If Coach Evans is hired, and he can recruit the next Ike Diogu, that might not be a bad move. And didn't he have at least some success at Ole Miss, in the no-longer-just-football SEC? I confess I don't know a whole lot beyond that, though. Proud to be a PonyFan
MorganThis is not a good deal for SMU. Fired because of a losing record. We keep bring this into SMU.
We need a recruiter or we are in trouble. Morgan is the best recruiter. Just ask Syracuse and their All Americans he recruited.
sure, I had hoped at one point that SMU would suddenly regain its sanity, but I no, I never thought anybody would get re-hired after being let go.
I'm even surprised Dement got re-hired by UNCG after he left there, that is uncoventional in itself.
Nobody ever said that. Just an explanation for his firing over and above burgers and Cheer. We never got that.
Hoop Fan said it, I know you didn't. Willis to slot receiver!
I agree HLV. Rob Evans has had two head coaching positions in high profile conferences. Rob Evans turned Ole Miss into an actual hoops program when one barely existed when he first got there. Rob Evans has been to the NCAA tourney. Rob Evans has recruited and developed top prospects into NBA players. Yup, its confirmed, he sounds like a Tubbs clone to me.

I'll believe this when I see it. If true, we'd be damn lucky.
"Remember Danny - Two wrongs don't make a right but three rights make a left."
Benford, I am told is a solid recruiter. It would not be a surprise if he were here and he brought most of his Arizona State staff.
Evans is 61, which is a concern I have.
Just got this from Hoopmasters --
