Does today's news about the new NIL help us as we continue the journey to P5?

Having one of the best NIL programs in the nation is definitely a benefit. This, combined with the South End Zone expansion, helps us control some of the expansion narrative.

You don't have to be a big money donor to get involved in helping SMU athletics return to competing at the highest level of NCAA athletics. You can join another collective that assists this Boulevard Collective https://www.ponysportsdtx.com/

So the Boulevard Collective is one - and it pays each FB and Mens’ BB player $36K per year. How much does Pony Sports DTX chip in? And per player or targeted to starters or other? Are there any others? Just trying to get a feeling for how big this really is.

Absolutely. It illustrates to other universities and media entities that SMU has an Alumni and support base in Dallas that are invested in SMU competing at the highest level. The ability and willingness to invest paired with the Dallas market make us a much more attractive option. We need to stay away from the Big 12. The other conferences will promote SMU as a university. The Big 12 will always attempt to tear us down. But this should absolutely have a positive impact. The only thing we are really missing is a travel partner. Take note of how the Big 10 took both USC and UCLA.

You should invest and you will learn a lot more. We are top 5 in the country overall in terms of NIL investment.

It would be nice to have the crowds at Ford that some of the Big 12 schools would bring, and there is more SMU fan interest in playing Texas Tech or Baylor than a team from another region. But you are right, the Big12 is a poisonous culture and we should stay away

Ponysportsdtx supplements the Boulevard Collective in an effort to protect our rosters and to attract the interest of high profile transfers. Collectives that have been formed in support of SMU athletics are critical if we want to compete in today's world of college athletics. As JasonB says, join the collective and you will gain access to more information but suffice it to say that individual athletes have NIL opportunities available to them beyond what the Boulevard Collective has announced.

I don’t see how it could heart. Definitely sends a much needed signal of investment considering attendance. It also makes me hopeful because although these donors have tons of money, I don’t think they’d invest like this unless something was on the horizon. I would have scoffed at this idea a few days ago, but I really think the SEC is a slight possibility. The only way it would happen is if the SEC goes the Rutgers B1G route. I know Rutgers is a much larger school and NY-NJ is a MUCH larger metro, but…. I think the SEC would find having Bama LSU Ole miss playing games in Dallas to be very attractive. This also could be a pipe dream of mine since I grew up in a major SEC school town
