KXTD Channel 47 on Direct TV. They are expecting a full house at the Sun Bowl tonight.

14-13 NTSU at half. Running backs look decent. QB is shaky. Defense is getting overyelled at constantly by Phil Bennett.

We will need to bring our A game to Denton’s Safeway Bowl.

UNT overcomes a very shaky start and just dominates UTEP 31 to 13. Shut them out in the second half.

Always tough to open on the road against a team that has already played a game. It will be especially tough considering all the new faces on SMU's roster and with everyone playing for a new coaching staff. Just hoping for a win next Saturday and not at all concerned about margin of victory or how the Mustangs might get it done. Remembering La Tech last year!

It will be a close game, sort of like SMU at Arky State in Shane’s first game

If we expect to have any chance of moving up to a 'real' conference then we had better pound the sparrows and show that we belong with the big boys.

First game with a new HC, with 50 new faces on the teamΓǪ I wouldn’t get too fired up about blowing people out early.

I’ve seen team after team excited for a first year HC, it usually takes a while to get rolling. Never the first game.

New coach, new system, new players the NTSU hasn't seen. Hard to prepare without previous experience with a team's offensive and defensive concepts. NTSU will have some idea about schemes but will have no clue about tendencies.

If SMU can execute early then it could surprise NTSU. Later in the game adjustments could shock NTSU. The unknown components of a team make preparation challenging. It could give SMU a nice early advantage.

I think this is a good comparison. It may take SMU a couple of quarters to get clicking and I would not be surprised if we go into halftime behind, just like at Arky St. In the end, you would hope the talent gap is the biggest deciding factor and SMU puts it away in the second half.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
