Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
Deserved due to all his shenanigans like having a stunt double at a recruiting event. But, I would assume he has learned a lot during his failures/being exposed over the last few years, and would imagine he’s been humbled a lot.
He’s an Aggie, and many of them are dorks.

I guess Morris did better at SMU than anywhere else. I thought he had a few good ideas. He's made some mistakes, but I wish him well.
Re: Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
I'm not an apologist for Chad Morris, but I do wonder how many games Paul Finebaum has won as a head coach or offensive coordinator.
That doesn't preclude Finebaum from having an opinion; he's welcome to have and express it, as that is his job; but that kind of invective, spoken with an "off the record" wink, seems a little much.

I don't have to be able to dunk a basketball to know that LeBron James is a better player than my neighbor's kid...weeeeve wrote:I'm not an apologist for Chad Morris, but I do wonder how many games Paul Finebaum has won as a head coach or offensive coordinator.

Re: Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
I think you can justifiably say he is a clown while recognizing he knows his x's and o's and brought some positives to SMU including recruiting.
Re: Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
My issue is not that Paul Finebaum, or anyone, for that matter, has an opinion and expresses that opinion regarding whatever, including Chad Morris.
But I think there's a way to express an opinion without being what I thought Paul Finebaum was being, which was pandering and smarmy.
And I do think that when we speak of things for which we have literally no experience, tempering that opinion by at least a tiny bit of humility is appropriate.
And yes, Lebron James can play basketball better than the five-year-old next door. And that opinion can be easily expressed without disparaging and smearing the five-year-old.
Just my $0.02. (Which these days buys about $0.018.)
Oh, and speaking of helicopters in trees, I happen to be a design engineer on helicopters... so don't get me started with people expressing opinions about what happened without knowing the full story...

Re: Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
Apparently you did not listen to the entire Finebaum talk. I did. Did he pander to the audience? Of course he did. He was at the RAZORBACK TOUCHDOWN CLUB. But he was most humble and much more entertaining than I had expected.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
Mrydel, yes, I did; it's on facebook. I wanted to hear everything in context. And I found Finebaum, as usual, to be well spoken, entertaining, pandering (as you said) etc... But that's irrelevant to my post, which was in regard to Finebaum's comment regarding Chad Morris (which happens at the 35:35 mark). I found his comment to be a kind of name-calling that is inappropriate and unnecessary.
That's all.
Peace,
Steven

SEC arrogance? What? When did that start? I don't believe it!
Re: Paul Finebaum's take on Chad Morris
Chad Morris flew too close to the sun. Went from head coach in the SEC to basically being a GA. Dude went 18-40 as an NCAA head coach.
