Rules violations

Postby Blunt Pony » Sat Apr 15, 2006 5:22 pm

Enough with the talk about how Tubbs only bought burgers and laundry detergent for his players and how SMU looks like fools because of the way this went down. Many of you have already brought up Majerus and the meal problems. Also remember when Arnold Palmer bought Tiger Woods a lunch and Stanford and Tiger got into trouble with the NCAA. We all know this is foolish and stupid, but it is a rule and every one of the NCAA coaches knows it. Blame the NCAA for the rule, not SMU for looking into it. Of course buying a few burgers and laundry detergent is an offense that should not cost a man his job, but these are the NCAA rules and Tubbs is paid a lot of money to know them. I don't need to see anymore evidence of what other improprioties (if any) were done. The big picture is the guy was not getting the job done and he was committing violations however minor.

Can we please turn the page.

How about we turn the page once SMU gets a replacement...even then we will have to see how he recruits and how his team does and wonder if Tubbs would have done a better job.
I miss Troy Matthews.
