First time in over 6 years I will attend a Dallas SMU game. Letterman's weekend and a bunch of my old teammates I haven't seen in decades will be there. And finally get to use my season tickets! I can't wait for the weekend to get here

Beyond that, I don't know. I also just can't wrap my head around paying premium money to sit in an end zone to "watch" the game, but that's just me.

Small private school, twice our enrollment, located in city twice the size of Dallas…they host Ohio St, Michigan, Michigan St, Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn St, Illinois is an in-state opponent…soon to include USC.

If Northwestern caps at 35k, SMU should cap at 32k. Make it with nicer amenities, like more suites…but don’t add seats.

Good point. We should consider Northwestern our peer football school like Duke and Villanova are our peer basketball schools.

I love SMU and am an alumn but I can’t even stretch that comparison. Neither NW or Duke are peer schools for us, aspirational yes, not peer. Villanova yes, closer, the truth is that it is easier to be a too academic school and a top basketball program than to compete against the big state schools in football. Maybe Boston college is a good comp, as it’s a P5 program and top private school, but not NW, Duke, ND elite academically. Tulane is probably our best academic comp and peer school, and also stuck on the outside looking in.

My best memory of Northwestern is that in the early or mid 70s they held the longest losing streak in the nation. They still, however, packed their stadium. Then they apparently took the sport serious and completely turned the program. That is about as close to us turning around since the death penalty that you can get.

All but two sections in the lower bowl have only singles available. That’s not too bad. People holding tickets do need to actually show up, however. This is a big game.

That's the problem, all those are sold season tickets.... showing up to the games is a different story.

Had this one pretty close with 23,566 announced and the north end zone and east side stands pretty bare but at least the TV crew showed the south end zone and said everyone was hiding out in the shade down there.

Homecoming - check
Playing a ranked opponent - check
Still in the hunt for AAC title - check
Entertaining product - i’m saying YES, check
Buzz around the program - due to new HC & NIL, I’m saying YES, check
Good weather - check

Attendance - below average….again

SMU should seriously look at doing their renovation on the north side & leaving that horseshoe open.

I would even consider making the north side the horseshoe or making it a huge suite (like Texas Stadium, that the Mustang Club used) before i considered adding seats to Ford.
