Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALLWish I still lived in Dallas as this would be a good game to gather a few fellow Stang fans and make a road trip. I expect a really tough game with both teams having their seasons on the line but I think this SMU team is just a little more talented than Tulsa so I'm going with 34-29 SMU to get back to .500 for the season
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALLOur teams are really similar on paper statistically through this point in the season. Mutual opponents we beat Navy and they got beaten badly. This would speak to the fact that maybe we could run the ball on them (Navy had 455 yards), but we have at least 2 and maybe 3 running backs out for this game....not sure on Camar's status. They lost to Cincy more than we did as well and again gave up nearly 200 yards rushing.
While we have more talent, we are more beat up at this point. While I'm excited about PR's game, he will make some freshman mistakes and I hopefully we have enough offense to over come them. The D will help us win this game. SMU 30 Tulsa 24 #Beat Clemson
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALLOne of the greatest series of games we’ve played. Over the years, I’ve really enjoyed playing Tulsa. Always a battle.
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALL
These games are often close and sometimes hotly contested, sure. They are nowhere on or near the list of SMU’s “greatest series.” I would be fine never playing them again.

Think Stone will Dazzle, but also throw a few picks.
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALLSMU 38 Tulsa 27.
What is Tulsa spelled backwards?
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALL
What are some better ones in your opinion?
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALLIn our current situation and recent history, Tulsa has been a nice series with SMU holding a 15-13 advantage. same as the Tulane series and similar to Navy who holds a 13-11 advantage (like it or not we all appear to be good competitive conference mates). As for all-time series, you have to look to our rivalries with former SWC private schools. TCU now holds a 42-52-7 advantage while Baylor holds a 36-39-7 advantage. Going forward and assuming we become conference mates again, SMU has a 48-41-1 advantage over Rice
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALLHistorically, you could make the argument that TCU is the top of the list. But we haven’t been truly competitive in more than a quarter century. Baylor is old news. Houston’s been fun, if uneven. Tulsa’s been fun. Don’t recall much with Rice or Tulane.
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALL
I don't get back to Dallas for SMU games very often but remember a homecoming game vs Rice as conference mates in CUSA where we blocked a FG attempt and ran it back at the end of the 1st half to completely change the tone of the game. I also remember a 13-12 game vs Tulane in Ownby that came down to a last second FG. Whether we care to admit it or not, in the post death penalty era the small private schools we have played with in the WAC, CUSA and AAC have been much more competitive series than when we have gone against the larger public schools.
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALLPredicting the Mustangs will break the Tulsa jinx, 34-31.
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALL
Cmon, you’re not 12. And the notion of limiting this concept to “recent” came up after I told you you were wrong, so here are some all-time series that are way better and more important: * TCU * Baylor * Texas (the losses make the wins sweeter) * A&M * Rice * Houston For wilderness-era (after 1995) opponents, even UTEP and UNT brought more people and often had more spirit.
Re: OFFICIAL:TULSA PREDICTIONS & ROLL CALL
I was the one who brought up "recent" series because although I loved the occasional wins vs UT, I would hardly call that among our "greatest" series. They were usually humiliating for our team and unfortunately our "recent" series with our former SWC mates have been much the same. I will always consider the TCU rivalry our greatest series but going forward, if the SMU program can't continue to improve, I'm afraid that honor may soon belong to Rice
