Should make UTSA an immediate contender in the AAC

He's reached Greg Israel and Ramon status
stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse

There is a fascinating dichotomy of player longevity across college football rosters right now, due to the transfer portal/relaxed transfer rules and allowances for additional eligibility. Teams have some players that we can scarcely remember "back when" they were not on the team, like Frank Harris. And teams have a bevy of players that come and go within a year as the move on through the transfer portal, some then moving on to yet another team after less than another year.
The co-existence of the two is creating some roster balance for many teams.
Just one of the many threads of the current fabric of college football that is totally different from college football of even 20 years ago.

And the Covid "bonus" year guys are getting coupled with scholarship limits has pushed a lot of H.S. talent into the JUCO ranks and to FCS programs. Transfers are a huge part of roster building these days and NIL collectives have become really important for programs that want to compete...just as UTSA boosters did to bring Harris back

Interesting that the article doesn't even seem to focus on the fact that it is a 7th season. It is more about the school/community raising enough $$ for NIL to entice him to stay.

Did anyone ever think they would see a college player stay around for 7 years on a six figure contract? I guess I am old and miss the good ol days.

Isn't it a violation for the school/coach to promote NIL payments to a specific player? If that's not pay to play, I'm not sure what is.

City of San Antonio is apparently paying him.

PM group is his primary NIL, Ancira auto group also. Key for UTSA is getting Harvey Najim and all his money involved for them moving forward.
Harris is still younger I think than UGA QB and some others, but yes 7 years is crazy.
