SMU adds former SEC offensive lineman

Joe Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News reports another transfer to SMU:

SMU transfer portal addition No. 7 is in: former Missouri OL Hyrin White (6-7 / 333) announces his commitment to the Mustangs.

White, a DeSoto alum, missed last season due to injury, but started all of 2021 at RT for Missouri.

2021 SEC Academic Honor Roll

2021 (Redshirt Senior): Started and played in 11 games at right tackle ΓǪ PFF All-SEC honorable mention selection ΓǪ member of the line that blocked for Mizzou’s offense to average 400+ yards of offense per game, 29.1 points per game and total 44 touchdowns scored ΓǪ running back Tyler Badie set a new school record for single-season rushing yards (1,604).

2020 (Redshirt Junior): Did not play due to injury.

2019 (Redshirt Sophomore): Played in 11 games, making starts against Wyoming (8/31) and West Virginia (9/7) at right tackle … part of an offensive line group that allowed just 6.08 tackles for loss and 2.25 sacks per game.

2018 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in eight games … logged snaps early in the year in Mizzou's big road win at Purdue (9/15) as he took over in the second half after starter Yasir Durant went out with an ankle injury ... performed well in his biggest spot to that point, as he helped the Tiger offense drive for a game-winning field goal as time expired in MU's 40-37 win.

2017 (Freshman): Redshirted the season.

High School: Three-star recruit by all four major recruiting services, ranked as high as the No. 38 offensive tackle in the class by Scout.com … DeSoto went 16-0 in 2016 and finished ranked 11th nationally according to MaxPreps.com … earned 8-6A All-District Second Team honors as a junior.
