PAC12 Scenario = Expansion

Re: PAC12 Scenario = Expansion
Academics, Location, Market, Time Zone, etc. I don't care which one counts, just invite SMU to the PAC. Dallas, SMU, and I deserve it. We've had bad luck and rejection for 40 years of wandering in the desert looking for the promised land. Enough already, may the football Gods show mercy on us in 2023. That is my Christmas prayer.
Re: PAC12 Scenario = Expansion
Anyone know when a decision is expected from the Pac-12?

TV contract will be decided by mid-Jan and expansion plans will be announced soon after that.

Re: PAC12 Scenario = Expansion
Gonzaga ponders its future in the age of realignment. Could the PAC-12 (or BigXII) enhance its BB brand and quality with the addition of Bulldogs? It would make the PAC-12 even more attractive with this addition in Basketball and other non-revenue sports.

Unless you have insider info, it seems like it would be February 2023 before we hear anything

Yes, Gonzaga would enhance the PACΓÇÖs MBB reputation. No, Gonzaga will not seriously be considered by the PAC. MBB does. not. matter.

Re: PAC12 Scenario = Expansion
Couldn't have said it better than AusTexPony in the post above.....we deserve to catch a break and even those friends of mine who aren't Mustang fans agree that we have done paid for the sins of many others. Having said that, I can't help but think we are setting ourselves up for yet another heartbreak. Please tell me someone has some inside knowledge that this Pac 12 dream is on track!
I just can't help but wonder if market size will matter if our market doesn't support us.

This will do us in, I'm afraid.
I root for: Mustangs, Astros & Jets!

We have the Dallas market like Temple has the Philadelphia market.
Re: PAC12 Scenario = Expansion
You get the Dallas market by winning the big games which we have failed to do since the DP
Re: PAC12 Scenario = Expansion
Let me clarify, it will always be UT and A&M first, but they are on the right track with the Dallas campaign. They have to beat the big boys to get it though

You are 2-1 vs a playoff team the last 3 years, that is a really good start. As is the new end zone expansion.
The key now, imo, is winning the AAC and getting to a NY6 bowl.
I believe every team that has been called up achieved this first. TCU, Utah, UC, UH, UCF all played in and won (not sure about UC but they made the playoffs) NY6 bowls before getting promoted.
This is what SMU needs to do now to make their value jump, just look at Tulane, 0-100 real quick, real quick.
Love your incoming class/transfers and excited to watch Stone.
Keep grinding.

We had the Dallas market with LB & men's basketball then an employee took an open book online test for KF. We then allowed them to speak to the NCAA with no legal representation and that brought the whole house down. This is SMU. It's what we do.

Being successful in sports at SMU and becoming more popular than our lifetime President is like working for the Clintons.
