Place only seat 3500 so it's a tough ticket with that lineupTerry Webster wrote:Nice tourney for next November....SMU, West Virginia, Virginia, Washington.

Re: Fort Myers Tip Off
Mrs CP and I like to spend Thanksgiving week on Marco Island so I've put my name on the list in case tickets are available for "locals" who don't want the travel package but with all these larger public schools with fans traveling from places that might enjoy some time at the beach that time of year (especially Wisconsin) I'm not overly optimistic. We've run into a lot of Michigan people at Marco in years past but can't say I've met anyone from the other schools. All I know is that Lanier better put a significantly improved squad on the court next season or we are going to be humiliated in this event.

I got a response indicating they will let me know about tickets later this spring...presumably after they sell as many travel packages as they can. Told them I was in the Mustang Club in case they are saving an allotment for that group

We've come to really enjoy Thanksgiving week down there after our fairways (bermuda) have gone dormant and most of the leaves are off the trees on our golf course. We don't own property there but just do VRBO beachfront condos for the week. It's been a good week of golf and relaxing on the beach with high temps close to 80 and lows in low to mid 60'sArkpony wrote:We have friends on Marcos Island

Still waiting to hear whether I will get tickets for this event. I just hope Lanier can put together a team that will be able to compete against a field that might be as strong as any SMU has ever faced in one of these early season tournaments

You'd have to pay me a lot of money to watch a Rob Lanier-coached team participate in that tournament. We might not crack 30 vs Virginia
