DID YOU VOTE?

Postby ALEX LIFESON » Sat Apr 22, 2006 5:16 pm

Most of us are familiar with the old political adage "if you didn't vote.....don't complain". I think that has some validity here as well. It is well known, that there are a couple of posters that constantly degrade every move SMU makes. It is also well known, that these same posters do not purchase tickets to basketball games, nor do they contribute to the Mustang Club. I would think the old "adage" applies here as well. If you don't vote.........you have no right to [deleted].

I hate to dissapoint you Alex, but I am a 20 year mustang club member and season ticket holder. It really does'nt matter though because your post is totally assinine. Giving money to the mustang club certainly does'nt give me a "vote", nor does it validate my complaints. In fact, the old adage about throwing good money after bad more apltly applies during most of my membership years. I realize that you are probably directing your post mainly to jtstang and Stallion, but both purchase tickets and attend games, they just don't buy season tickets or give to the mustang club, which is their way of "voting" against current policies.

You need to put down your stones and remember that we have free speech in this country, and disagreeing with policy or decisions made by the SMU powers does'nt make someone less of a fan.

Please explain how giving money and accepting mediocrity helps things get better.

It is hard to say that football and men's basketball have even been mediocre in the last 15 years.

Once again, everyone loves a bitcher, right?

Now and then we hear rants about the 'sunshiners' on the board...how bout some props for the bitchers?

Definition of a bitcher?

Well...if a problem exists in your organization, identify a possible solution to the problem. Describe/outline how you think the problem can/should be solved. Take action.

On the other hand, if all you are capable of is identifying the problem, without identifying a solution set or taking action, well...that means you're just [deleted].

As far as this thread goes, I agree with Bighorse.

I "vote" every month when I write that check to pay my student loans, which I paid to SMu during my 8+ years on the hilltop. So I can [deleted] with impunity.
