Yeah Joe Pa ...SMU was so horrible paying for a car for a player, while you looked the other way while someone you hired raped kids in your football locker-room showers. SMH

You are right - look forward, not back.

Good days ahead for SMU!

I don't work in higher education and I don't claim to understand much about economics and finance, but I would guess that if SMU wins like many of us think we can, more alums might become more generous, and we might pass a couple of schools on that list. Hope so.

SMU's endowment topped 1billion in 2006.

Would not surprise me. Full share from the big 12. Calford would not have to play
atrociously poor academic schools like boise or travel 3 time zones at a reduced
share to play with eastern peers like Virginia, Duke, GT etc.

ACC dragging their feet. Time is running out.

Funny, Big XII is talking about doing what it should have done in the first place. How will Colorado take this? Maybe ACC will walk away. Maybe not. Big XII fear of us runs deep, or hatred.

Note the original report was in the SF Chronicle - another view is that this is disinformation to put pressure on ACC to make the deal. (The thought of the wine sippers going to Truck Stop U is [in the words of Spock] ΓÇ£fascinating.ΓÇ¥)

Calford would be happy to play in the Big 12 if the cash is there.
Throw all the cultural "distraction" out the window.
