Kevin Jennings
If he leads us to a win Saturday and brings home the championship, he'll be a legend in SMU football history.
Can't wait to see it happen.

Re: Kevin Jennings
Hopefully this will be Kevin's "Cade Klubnik moment" (referring to Klubnik coming in and winning the ACC Championship for Clemson last year after playing very little during the regular season)

Re: Kevin Jennings
I know he hasn't played a lot, but he just doesn't seem even a little fazed when he goes in the game.
I see Jennings leading us to a title Saturday!

Heck yeah! The guy has taken a team to a state 5A championship IN TEXAS. This is old hat for him.DallasDiehard wrote:I know he hasn't played a lot, but he just doesn't seem even a little fazed when he goes in the game.

"Lance, get in there and take over for Ford...good luck, son"
Re: Kevin Jennings
I remember one of the lamebrain DMN UT apologist columnist's "Dear Lance" letter the week before the game you reference. Basically he wrote Lance's football obituary. That Saturday Lance only completed one pass and the box score showed that we had 3 yards in the air. But we whipped Texas because Lance was cool as a cucumber and played like a winner. No INTs. No lost fumbles.GHammond wrote:"Lance, get in there and take over for Ford...good luck, son"
Re: Kevin Jennings
I bet that same collumnist was quiet the year before when SMU went
to the air to beat UT soundly. Lance has always been undervalued.
Consumate team player.
Remember the 83 hog contest. What a day for our D.

Re: Kevin Jennings
Last year after Tanner and Preston went down in the Cincinnati game, Kevin started against Tulsa in a must win game. He was over 70% completion and over 200 yards throwing. Not saying Tulsa and Tulane are equal, but this young man has been tested as a back up with one weeks prep before starting.
Re: Kevin Jennings
No big deal but SMU didnΓÇÖt beat Texas before the 1980 win in Austin. Or the 1982 win in Austin.orguy wrote:I bet that same collumnist was quiet the year before when SMU went

Re: Kevin Jennings
Jennings played a really good game. He deserves lots of kudos.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Kevin Jennings
Definitely, he did what he needed to do to get us the win.PK wrote:Jennings played a really good game. He deserves lots of kudos.
Made some really magical plays out there.
The fumble at the beginning of the game was not his fault, most QBs would have fumbled on that blindside hit as the arm was about to go in motion in throw.
His first INT was a bad pass behind the receiver and his second was a just a bad decision.
Other than that, he used his legs perfectly and made some tricky throws when the defense thought he was going to run.
Room for improvement, hopefully that will be in a NY6 bowl!
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
Re: Kevin Jennings
Mr Grace under pressure. Yes room for improvement but all things considered
a very strong performance.
