If this is true (and I don't think it is), I give Tulane 2 more years max in the AAC.indianmustang wrote:side story

Eh. No offense to the Times-Pic, but that's a lot of boosterism but very short on real-dollar info that would move conference needles. Yulman is absolutely landlocked and maxed out at 30,000. When you're there (I've been there for both SMU and Duke games), it feels new but cheap (like Baylor's) and small-time. There's nowhere for Tulane to go, as much as I do enjoy them as a conference opponent and the fact that New Orleans is my second-favorite city anywhere.highlander wrote:If this is true (and I don't think it is), I give Tulane 2 more years max in the AAC.indianmustang wrote:side story

I'm heading to the airport in less than three hours and hoping tomorrow's forecast will improve!

Facilities are pitiful. The baseball stadium is nice. The football stadium is not just land locked, its not in a north-south configuration because of land availability. Thus, the eve ing sun is on the home side. Shadows on a late afternoon fall game are really funky. It can't go up due to local zoning.highlander wrote:If this is true (and I don't think it is), I give Tulane 2 more years max in the AAC.indianmustang wrote:side story

The basketball 'coliseum' is older than any living alumni and is worse than most neglected intercity HS gyms.
Tulane has very limited assets to bring to a major conference. And spite the buzz with Tulane winning, this is still a LSU/NOLA Saints' town.
And if TU loses its current coach, all bets are off.

Also Tom Rossley, Mike Caven, Phil Bennett, June Jones (personal favorite for Tulane) and Tom Mason.highlander wrote:I heard Chad Morris is available.redpony wrote:Hey green wave- win today and the prize is a new coach search. be sure to tell willie how much you liked him and he will be missed. great coach moving on.

A lot to choose from, for sure. I chose Morris because Rossley and Cavan are too old, and Chad Morris was an exceptionally overpaid charlatan.ponyte wrote:Also Tom Rossley, Mike Caven, Phil Bennett, June Jones (personal favorite for Tulane) and Tom Mason.highlander wrote:I heard Chad Morris is available.redpony wrote:Hey green wave- win today and the prize is a new coach search. be sure to tell willie how much you liked him and he will be missed. great coach moving on.
