Re: TOP 25
Interestingly, even though this one has us at 26, they do not list us among the "deserves" in their bracketology. We are not even in the "play-ins".indianmustang wrote:26th here

Re: TOP 25
Just keep winning and more will notice...and hope that all the teams that we lost to keep winning as well. Just can't afford any "bad" losses

Not a big Baskerball fan but why are these rankings so far apart? For SMU MBB: Kenpom #40, Massey #70, Torvik #21, etc. not to mention the AP and Coaches Polls. Can someone explain to a Neophyte? And which is generally most accurate?

Re: TOP 25
I think the selection committee acknowledges they consider the NET rankings and ESPN's BPI (that takes injuries into consideration). It's really important to win Quad I and Quad II games which demonstrates a team's competitiveness against good teams. That makes it tough for SMU because the AAC isn't loaded with teams that give us an opportunity to earn those "quality wins". Playing a strong non-conference schedule is important but the challenge with that is that most teams struggle early as they are still developing team chemistry. That has certainly been the case with this SMU team as we have so many new faces learning to play with each other. It's encouraging to see this team get better week after week but they need to get healthy and stay healthy. This time of year there are nagging injuries that can affect how well they play. Suffice it to say this is another big week with road games at UNT and WSU, both tough places to play.AusTxPony wrote:Not a big Baskerball fan but why are these rankings so far apart?
