It's funny that now they're using the term 'Power 6 schools'

This NIL stuff is sad in many ways. It went from Shabazz Napier not being able to afford getting something to eat to basically professional sports in less than a decade.

I think it has always been the basketball powers including the P5s we always have known and loved plus the Big East.

This is absolutely the case. Just look at how the NIT changed their invitation criteria with 2 auto bids going to each of the "Power 6" Conferences which consists of the P5 football schools and the Big East. I have to wonder whether the Big East (rather than the MWC) influenced the NCAA committee in terms of knowing the Big East had more access to post season play. Some Big East programs probably felt they were more deserving than some of the MWC schools that got bids to the dance
