Re: 2024 ACC tournament
Sticking with the current format with top 4 teams getting both 1st and 2nd round byes. Brutal path for teams finishing 10-15 as they have to win 2 games just to advance to the final 8
Re: 2024 ACC tournament
Yes, the path for any team seeded lower than 9 is basically impossible. And those teams are typically not even on the tournament bubble, so a 2- or 3-game run doesn't matter either.
Incidentally, the ACC announced upcoming tournament locations last week for the next five years, all in North Carolina, which was expected after the state gave the ACC $15 million as part of keeping the conference HQ in NC (now Charlotte) when the ACC left Greensboro last year: Charlotte in 2025, 2026, and 2028, and Greensboro in 2027 and 2029.
Charlotte is "meh" to me in terms of a host city but Greensboro and the Greensboro Coliseum should be a must-visit event at least once.
PS It would be great if the thread title was updated to reflect that this is about the 2025 tournament, not the one starting in a few weeks.

Re: 2025 ACC tournament
"This season, the ACC is 11-3 against the Big 12, the conference widely considered to be the deepest in the country. The Big 12 is sending three teams to the Sweet 16, the same number of teams that the ACC is sending from one area code (919)."
Greatness.
Greatness.

Sweet 16 had 4 ACC Teams, not 3

I think the area code was a reference to the NC schools and did not include Clemsonpanhandle_pony wrote:Sweet 16 had 4 ACC Teams, not 3
