Phelps in transfer portal

Post by Screck »

I thought he would stay. Hope we get a consistent shooter at PG and hope Coach E has his guy picked out. Next year will be tough but we will be fine thereafter. Good luck Zhuric

Just think about how much NIL $$ was just saved that can now be re-distributed.

Best of luck to ZP at the next stop!

Or he could come back if he doesn't get a suitable offer elsewhere, couldn't he? After all, he entered his name into the draft last year, and then came back.
Either way, seems like a good dude. Wishing him the best, here or elsewhere.

This doesn't shock me and it will be interesting to see what kind of interest Zhuric draws. He's been a valuable player for us but for a guy who took more shots than anyone else on the team, it was disappointing he had the lowest shooting percentage. He shot better his Soph season but whether he stays or moves on, I hope he works on his perimeter shooting and can improve as much as he did with his FT shooting this past season. Considering how important 3 point shooting has become in today's game, a guy coming off a season of 22% shooting from three might not be in high demand.

I like Phelps and watching him run the length of the court against 4 opposing players was something to see. But his big numbers were due to his handling and shooting the ball to the exclusion of his teamates more often than necessary IMO. Good luck. Work on your FTs and your 3s and hope that you improve and have a career after college. He will be valuable to some team that wants to make a run next season.

I hadn't watched Bball in years until last season. I was not very impressed with him. Thought he lost us a few games by not sharing the ball and forcing shots. Assuming the new staff will land some of their old USC guys or better so I will wait and see but I believe we upgrade, same with the big men.
