transfer portal cornerback

Postby 1983 Cotton Bowl » Fri May 17, 2024 10:06 am

I seem to recall that getting 1 or 2 cornerbacks in the Spring portal was a top priority. Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall us getting much at that position in the Spring. Is that effort still ongoing? Did we strike out? Or did something happen and I just missed it?

I believe we got one, Harmon, from A$M. Stuck out on several since. Still looking.

Yeah, I remember Harmon from earlier. Even after getting him, it sounded like 1 or 2 more was a big priority in the Spring window.

Here's a link to corners that went into in the portal. Not a lot of free agents left.

How To Soften T-Shirts: A Complete Diy Guide

Whether you just received a fresh design from your favorite POD brand like Lion King Shirt or want to bring new life to well-worn tees, learning how to soften t-shirts is a handy skill. Straight from the printer or dryer, shirts can feel stiff, thick, and uncomfortable. But with the proper understanding of fabric types and simple DIY methods, you can have tops that feel as soft and cozy as your most loved layers.

In this guide, we'll explore easy techniques using store cupboard staples like vinegar, baking soda, and more to soften your t-shirt. Read on for a complete handbook to achieving the supremely broken-in wear you love.

Understanding Your T-Shirt’s Fabric Before Softening

The first step is knowing your fabric composition to pick the best softening technique. Here are the most common options in print-on-demand tees:

Cotton T-shirts: Made from breathable, sustainable cotton, these are very softenable with the right treatment. Cotton quickly absorbs moisture to relax fibers.

Polyester T-shirts: Synthetic poly fibers don’t absorb water, and neither do cotton. Softer polyester blends work better than 100% polyester, which can stay stiff.

Blend T-shirts: Combo cotton/poly blends are very versatile, but fibers may soften at different rates. For the best results, start with gentle and layer methods.

4 Methods For Softening A New T-Shirt

  • Softening T-Shirts By Using Fabric Softener
Adding fabric softener to the final rinse cycle is one of the most effective methods. Use 1/2 cup of your favorite liquid softener and add it directly to the rinse dispenser. The softener will coat and condition cotton and cotton blend fibers, leaving them supersoft and eliminated static cling and stiffness. For best results, air dry the shirts so they can snuggle down in the softener. The softener allows fibers to relax without restriction for an authentically worn-in handfeel.

  • Softening T-Shirts With Vinegar
Create a mild 1:4 white vinegar and water solution. Submerge shirts in the solution for about 30 minutes, pushing down occasionally so the liquid reaches all areas. Vinegar has natural enzymes that gently break down fabric fibers without damage like harsher chemicals. This allows the fibers to find their happy place and drape more comfortably on the body. After soaking, proceed with your regular wash cycle using a mild laundry detergent. The shirts from Lion King Tee Shirts will come out with a noticeably cozier feel.

This is a simple and easy way to soften yout t-shirt.

  • Using Baking Soda To Soften T-Shirts
Toss 1/2 cup of baking soda into the dryer with your damp shirts. The mild abrasiveness of baking soda acts like a natural antistatic and softening sheet. It buffs away lint and pilling while also polishing fibers to a silky smoothness. There's no chemical residue left behind like with store-bought dryer sheets. The shirts tumble clean and emerge from the dryer supple and conditioned.

  • Softening T-Shirts With Table Salt
Sprinkle a thick, even layer of table salt over a dry shirt and use your hands to gently rub it all over the fabric. Let sit for 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with cool water until the runoff is clear. Table salt contains natural crystalline properties that exfoliate away dead skin cells and other debris clinging to cotton and blend fibers. This revitalizes the fabric texture, allows it to drape better, and feels softened to the touch. Air drying after is recommended.

Tips For Maintaining Softness

No matter your process, keeping tees conditioned is key:

  • Limit tumble drying, which can cause static and stiffness over time. Air drying is best.
  • Use mild, dye-free laundry detergent to prevent buildup weighing down the fabric.
  • Add fabric softener to the rinse occasionally as a conditioning treatment.
  • Store folded or on hangers to preserve shape without creases cracking down.
With the right shirt-specific remedy and care habits, your orders from LionKingShirt: A Hot Spot for Fashion Enthusiasts will have that supremely comfortable broken-in feel that comes from years of love! Your favorite new tees deserve to feel buttery soft right out of the virtual package.

Wrapping Up

With a bit of fabric know-how and the right softening techniques, you now have the power to make any tee as plush and comfortably worn-in as your favorites. Don't be afraid to layer remedies for stubbornly stiff fibers or mix up your process to keep shirts conditioned long-term. Flex your fabric skills to give tees new life and keep your favorite graphics looking fresh. Most importantly, enjoy the cozy confidence and lived-in feeling that comes with knowing your shirts are as soft and huggable on the inside as how they represent you on the outside. Stay stylish and softened - it's all in the DIY details!

I believe we struck out in our top ~5 targets and I have not heard of anyone else we are after. We may be out of luck there, and losing Knox as a 2nd/3rd strong backup hurts. Believe we will have 7 scholarship CBS, with 2 being true freshman.

For numbers comparison, I think we will only have 9 scholarship safeties for three safety positions, including two true freshman. Difference being our two deep there is more proven.
