My neighbor (Brian Good) is the HC at D-II Wingate and his team made the NCAA D-II tournament this year but lost his big man to graduation. He made a run at Xavier hoping he might be willing to forego NIL (not allowed at D-II) to have a really good shot at playing time. Coach Good was disappointed because he thought he had a legitimate chance after I told him Xavier didn't get any playing time during his 2 years at SMU.
Side note: our own J Frog (Jeremiah Samarippas) is the HC at Lincoln Memorial in TN, a team that tied Wingate for their conference championship this year. J Frog replaced John Schertz who built Lincoln Memorial into a D-II powerhouse and Schertz coached the Indiana State team that beat us in the NIT this past season
