SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Watching the ACC Network and interview with Commish Phillips who is raving about adding SMU and the DFW market as well as Stanford & Cal. Talking about how important academics is as well and how well the newcomers fit the conference profile. Only 8 schools finished in the Top 25 rankings of both athletics and academics and the ACC had 6 of them

This, exactly. I will admit this has been a pretty emotional day because I was not sure I would live to see this day come, and here we are. I was there at Hughes Trigg for the Big East unveil, the debuts of Jones and Morris but this is different to the core. And to be there for the great turnout at the event today. This is special. Let’s worry about how we will do later and enjoy this moment now. Pony Up ladies and gents!!
