The guy in the ticket office directed me to the site. Tailgate parties and tours for all games except Nevada. https://events.smu.edu/event/smuawaytailgates24/

Thanks. There aren't that many one-stop flights from SMF to CHO, but there are a few options. I may end up flying into Richmond as that's only about 80 miles away.

I have lived up in Cincy for 24 years and I have never had a chance to go to Churchill Downs. Looking forward to this chance.

* Nevada and Stanford are 2+ hour drives from my house.
* I bought a plane ticket for Louisville last month.
* For Duke, I'll stay with a friend in Raleigh (just like the ECU game last year)
* For Virginia, what's the best/closest airport to use? Dulles appears to be 3+ hours away. Is Richmond a sizeable airport? Does Charlottesville have an airport?
Are they selling tickets to tailgate parties for these games? I haven't seen a mention of them yet.
First off, welcome to the ACC SMU! I hope your association with the conference benefits all.
For the UVa game -
You're much more likely to get a flight from your area to Dulles (IAD) than you are to Richmond (RIC) or Charlottesville (CHO). Dulles is really only ~2 hours away, maybe even a little less, and very easy to navigate (the trip is made just using 3 highways, Va-28, I-66, and US-29).
Tailgating would probably take place north of the stadium in the lots by John Paul Jones Arena and where University Hall stood across the street and south of the stadium in Fontaine Research Park. You may be better off in the JPJ/University Hall lots because there's a lot of construction taking place in Fontaine Park (a new research lab and a parking garage).

Word to the wise for anyone driving from the DC area to Charlottesville. The trooper and county mounties have the schedule, too, so they know when the home games are and can expect a high volume of traffic. They have places they like to hide along US 29, particularly the Greene County deputies. One place you're almost guaranteed to see one is by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash test facility. Doing 62.5 MPH/100 KPH is pretty safe. I've gone through radar that fast and have never gotten a ticket.
