Seriously I donΓÇÖt see how Sonny makes it past this year. His team is headed in the wrong direction from its high 2 years ago.

Re: Sonny
I think everyone could see how false of a high that was (not taking anything away from them, cause we would all kill for a season like they had two years ago).highlander wrote:Seriously I donΓÇÖt see how Sonny makes it past this year. However, last year those same mistakes we saw in his time here were rearing their head from them. This year...they look like a shell of that team from a couple years ago.
I didn't realize he was one of the main people campaigning for the series to end. If he does depart after this season, the fact that he would have done the damage he did in completely ending our greatest rivalry is just insanity to me.
Everything he gets is more than deserved.

Re: Sonny
When I got home yesterday I spent some time reading killerfrogs game thread. Several there want him gone. I was disappointed we didnΓÇÖt start an ACC yell at the end of the game. Loved the fast thinking person who played Hit the Road Jack while Sonny was being escorted out!! That was priceless!
Re: Sonny
Funny thing the Big XII isn't very strong. Although he already has one loss in conference, many remaining games are winnable for them with the exception of Utah and OSU. So, he could emerge bowl eligible. But their secret is out. Run the ball down their throats. Any team with a decent running game will be able to beat them. So, it could be a repeat of last year in which case, Sonny's seat will be very hot and Patterson probably stoking the fires.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Bowl-eligible, Schmowl-eligible! When the two best teams leave your conference (UT and OU), becoming bowl-eligible doesn't mean much. In addition to OSU and Utah, I can also see them losing to KU and Cincy. But whatever -- I selfishly hope they do well because it will make our win look that much better and it will help keep Sonny around longer. He'll be the coach who is not quite bad enough to get rid of.EastStang wrote:Funny thing the Big XII isn't very strong. I dislike Sonny as much as anyone does, and watching the Froggies lose is good for my soul. But it's impossible to imagine being a fan of that program (honestly, I should stop there) ... and wishing to run off the guy who took that craptacular bunch to a national title game just 18 months ago.

And TCU had to beat both Texas and Oklahoma to accomplish that featIkus wrote:I dislike Sonny as much as anyone does, and watching the Froggies lose is good for my soul. just makes me that much prouder of our crowd and team. stay classy
Re: Sonny
I'd love to see Sonny get run out of TCU.
Partly because it would be poetic justice, but also because when he ends up as a coordinator at Northern Michigan State Tech U or someplace, Frog fans can enjoy a hard lesson in the concept that it's only a good idea to dump a coach if the replacement is better ... and that is never guaranteed.

SMU! SMU! SMU!
Re: Sonny
Some are saying that Sonny's buyout is too much to dump him this year. He may be next season's Dave Aranda. Interesting to note that Gary Patterson's paranoid and delusional behavior after losing to SMU got him canned mid-season. Will Sonny go off the deep end even further? Will last Saturday be the beginning of the end? He is not only a snake for the way he negotiated his exit during the middle of our season, publicly playing us off against TCU for his services, but he is the very definition of trash. He isn't good enough for SMU and he may not even be good enough for Fort Worth.

Re: Sonny
I feel compelled to point out that several on this forum were calling for Lashlee's head after the BYU game ΓÇôΓÇô that being the first loss after winning the first conference championship in something like 40 years? So yeah, every team has their crazies.Ikus wrote:I dislike Sonny as much as anyone does, and watching the Froggies lose is good for my soul. I'm one of our crazies ... and proud of it.
I guess the money SD "donated" to TCU buys him at least another year, no matter what happens on the field, but here's hoping they lose enough to make it a tough call for the Frog administration
