Re: Sonny
Given how things have worked out for us, including an unimaginable invitation to the ACC, I don't have ill feelings toward Sonny. However, karma is a b*tch.

Me too. I think Lashlee is overall a better fit for the Hilltop. I think Sonny could have been great here, but I hope Lashlee will be better.

Re: Sonny
Sonny did a good job at SMU and hurt a lot of people's feelings when he bailed. I will always remember his saying "I've taken that program as far as I can". Of course he was referring to the competitive disadvantage we had as a G5 program and he was aware our former SWC mates would never invite us to join the Big XII and I'm sure that was a big part of his decision. He just could not have imagined SMU to either the PAC-12 or ACC but all in all, as a west Texas guy I think he's a better fit in Cowtown. I'm just disappointed he can't handle the hatred he's experiencing and wants to end a series that has run over 100 years. I do think Lashlee is a better fit in Dallas/Highland Park and hope he stays a long time and becomes one of, if not our most successful coach ever..PerunaPunch wrote:Me too. The crowd might have gone a little easier on him if he hadn't skipped town with some of top recruits.Charleston Pony wrote:Sonny did a good job at SMU and hurt a lot of people's feelings when he bailed. It was even more than that. If you havenΓÇÖt already, watch Billy EmbodyΓÇÖs podcast with Mr. Miller and Mr. Armstrong. As Armstrong said, ΓÇ£a liar to the end.ΓÇ¥max the wonder dog wrote:The crowd might have gone a little easier on him if he hadn't skipped town with some of top recruits.Charleston Pony wrote:Sonny did a good job at SMU and hurt a lot of people's feelings when he bailed. Not sure what you mean by that. All of our receivers have "underpeformed" but that hasn't been entirely on them. I bet we see better numbers from Hudson, Moochie, and the rest, including our TE room, as the season progresses.tristatecoog wrote:#8 Hudson came back to the Hilltop but never really arrived.

Just meant Hudson is an example of a guy that went with Sonny (+ Samples) and is now on the Hilltop. I do expect that Hudson will do some amazing things as the season progresses.

Hudson played some at TCU as a true frosh and his "coming home" really teed Sonny off...after he stole him from SMU when he bailed on our program
