My goodness, somehow theyΓÇÖre still arrogant

Post by Dukie »

ΓÇ£ One reason SMU never made sense in the ACC is that its facilities and history pale compared to what a major conference technically has to offer.ΓÇ¥

ΓÇ£ For an entrance, Eric Dickerson rode in on the back of a Mustang sports car as a pony, which looked like a stuffed animal, sprinted onto the field in front. It was little league and tacky, but it made sense for a desperate team that came into the conference for free.ΓÇ¥

I hope Clemson beats them by 50.

Losing is tough. Getting blown out is even tougher. We have gained plenty of experience with that in our post death penalty era

It is hard to disagree with the first paragraph. And there certainly was a desperate team at Gerald Ford Stadium, but it wasnΓÇÖt SMU. As the night progressed, the desperate team turned into a hopeless team. The Florida State collapse is about as rapid and as extreme as I can remember.
A long tradition of existence.

I was also pretty mad that they chose to do their war chant while Varsity was played before the start of the game.

Yeah that Hollywood costume Seminole yielding a flaming spear is as tacky as it gets. College Station is actually more sophisticated than the Florida Panhandle btw.

About that...my FSU grad bride and the 4 FSU folks behind us in 106 were commenting about that being not only rude, but embarrassing...they did not approve, and apologized to the surrounding Pony fans...

AND I am grateful to not be wearing a French Maid outfit for the weekend...

I read that sheety, butt hurt column earlier. So many of these things written by guys in a corner of their 500sf apartment.

That guy has serious emotional issues. He's upset about Fla St but had to just flat out insult SMU before he started ranting about FST.

These types get paid by the word so glad he made enough money for his two tacos, fries and a jumbo jack and Jack in the Box.

Don't be going after JiTB...back in the day two Super tacos and a coke were late-night staples for the hungry and poor(er) Ponies....

That was extremely rude and it just showed how classless they were. We had FSU in front of us and to our side. I started noticing that my group of Mustangs clapped when their injured player got up and the FSU fans didnΓÇÖt.

Someone posted a video of the Band playing the war chant really slowly like a dirge. It is really funny.

They voted against us joining because we were somehow unworthy. We gave them a total [deleted] whupping. The cited us in their complaint as a reason why they should be let out of the ACC. I am a member of the Florida Bar and almost tempted to file an amicus brief which would be about three sentences. "The Plaintiff contends that SMU was not a good fit for the Atlantic Coast Conference because it has not had historic good television ratings for 25 years. The final score SMU 42 - FSU 16. One wonders whose TV ratings will be better for the rest of this season?"
