Re: SMU @ Louisville Game Thread
We have now beaten TCU, Florida State and Louisville in a row! All big boys! We have arrived! 5-1 and lead the ACC! So proud of the team!
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: SMU @ Louisville Game Thread
This a SERIOUS football team. I had many doubts when RS switched to KJ...I will STFU moving forward. This team would be top 15 if we had KJ in vs BYU. LFG and run the table !!!!

What a great win. Also super impressed with how KJ has performed. Complete control of the offense.
Also lamenting not putting this together against BYU because we would definitely beat them in a rematch.

And a really good time to have another bye with the shot KJ took in the 1st quarter

Re: SMU @ Louisville Game Thread
So glad I made this trip.
This team deserves everyoneΓÇÖs support.
Just an absolute fantastic squad these last two years. Going into this one, after arriving on Friday, their entire local media was talking about how we havenΓÇÖt played in an environment like theirs and how inferior we are.
I was sitting there thinking this wonΓÇÖt be anything like OU last year, and I was right. Our boys came out and took it to them for the most part in that first half. Their fans were completely stunned and SMU was echoing out of that place.
Then the second half and once they stopped us, I wonΓÇÖt lie I thought we were done. But they proved me wrong again. They absolutely showed out and the defense held the Cards out when we needed them most.
Nothing but positives from this experience today. To the fan that told me you guys arenΓÇÖt Florida State, well, you are correct about that. But we still grabbed that W.
Just beyond overjoyed with a win like that today.
PONY UP!!!

Re: SMU @ Louisville Game Thread
When Louisville tied us and was clearly whipping us in the 2nd half I said we need a lucky break and a turnover to regain momentum. The over turning of the fumble was the lucky break and then the INT on Louisville's desperation 4th down TD attempt came just as I had hopedLebanese4Life wrote:Great game. Got extremely lucky with the fumble reversal call. Might stain the dub but I'll take it. What a team!

I think the huge 4th down stop changed the game. The cards were rolling with momentum before that, and that stopped them from ever having a lead. It was a real team effort out there today.

Two more conference wins than I thought we would have.
Now the spotlight will begin to shine on SMU and the next thing that happens is all the [deleted] who are laughingly referred to as "sports journalists" (who have never had an original thought and never will) are going to bring out the death penalty stories.

A long tradition of existence.

As for our death penalty history, I say "bring it". SMU could be cashing in on t-shirts with the slogan:geezerdonk wrote:Two more conference wins than I thought we would have.

Now it's Legal
Back in my day when the outdoor pool and diving platform was built, they sold "SMU Country Club" shirts. Had to have made a lot of parents proud to see their kids wearing those

Re: SMU @ Louisville Game Thread
Yeah, the outdoor pool on a sunny day was must see along with McElvaney beach.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

A shame we can't put 25 brass and a drum on a private jet to Stanford.

Tip of the cap to the PonyFans who made the trip to Louisville. Stuck within a big crowd, I could year you through headphones on the sideline. Nicely done!

Yup, remember McElvaney beach. Knew a swimmer on my dorm floor, and got to jump off the second level of the diving tower feet first. Got up there and thought boy I hope I hit the pool from here.EastStang wrote:Yeah, the outdoor pool on a sunny day was must see along with McElvaney beach.
May the forth be with us.
