Trip to Louisville!

First - Great Win.

The stadium had been renovated a while back and it shows as a clean, easy to get around and it is full of food and beverage choices. The people around town are very friendly.

The Frats tailgate way far away and are quite loud as each group wants to out noise the other group with the music. Lots of games and cans under the game tables. I could make lots of money cleaning up that parking lot.

As you walk in the older crowd takes over with tents, motorhomes and travel trailers. Everyone we met and talked to was kind and polite. Again, the stadium looks pretty from afar and does not disappoint when you enter.

Of course, the e-ticket did not work well but we found an Older (like Us) man and he walked us through a side gate and got us into the stadium. Real hospitality! Yes, I prefer paper, and you get around the stagnation at the entry gate.

Inside the stadium and yes, nice. Want a drink? Lots of kiosk bars. Real drinks like Tito's, Woodford Reserve, Jose Cuervo etc. I'll say this now... BOURBON is all over the airport, taxi's, billboards and the stadium too.

What a game. The 3rd and one and 4th and one, was magic. So happy for video review on the fumble.

Folks, we have a really good team. They paid a lot of attention to the small but rowdy SMU section. And the section yelled loud, and the stadium heard US.

Let me mention that after the game, the Bird fans were the same nice and polite group we met before the game. That night at dinner we meet two moms in the red Cardinal jerseys. They were both educated women from LU and proud of their sons play on their team. Very well spoken and as polite as can be. Yes, sad for the lose but giving credit to the SMU team. We parted with hugs.

All and all a great trip.

Next time we have a game, try to make it. If you like Bourbon, go a day early and take some Distillery tours.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a great trip!
Being in Phoenix, every game is an away game for me, but I'm hoping I can make a
few over the next couple of years, once I finally reach retirement.

Go Ponies!

I had much the same experience without the eticket mess that you had. The folks there were terrific and very complimentary of SMU. Several of the people I talked to had no idea that we were that good and several didn't know that we are located in Dallas. They could have had some better places to find some shade as my wife badly overheated (thanks to her cancer meds) and she spent the second half under the stands along with a couple of other people. And the Friday night gathering at Churchill was dang near perfect.

Have to agree all around with you, all the way down to the eTicket stuff.

We could not get our tickets working at all, no idea what was going on.

My dad went to UK, and I was born up there, so this one was extremely special for our family. Got to take in some Kentucky Friday night lights on Friday before the big game Saturday.

Did love hearing the radio guys for U of L say that we are pretty inferior and that this shouldn't be a game. Boy, was he wrong.

Fans were great overall. Even at OU, we had one or two that were loud and getting in our face. Not the case this past Saturday. Had a few make some jokes here and there walking into the stadium, but otherwise, great hospitality.

Definitely didn't expect things to be that hot, the sun without the clouds was killer. But being able to drink whatever I damn well pleased throughout the day was extremely enjoyable. Ponies definitely need to step up their drinking game at Ford to include more than beer.

Was able to get in and out of the stadium extremely quick as well. Able to catch my 4:45 flight back to Dallas without any issue.

Can't wait for another road trip. Was able to make Nevada and this one. Hoping to Virginia game later this season as well. This team deserves all the support we can give them. If you can, get out there and make some memories and cheer on our boys!

I also was impressed with the stadium. My first thought after seeing inside the stadium was; "Why don't they host a bowl game?"

There was no problem with the usher scanning my e-ticket.

Yes, it felt quite a bit hotter than the listed temperatures. Even with an occasional breeze, sitting in the sun made for a very toasty day.

Holy cow, there's bourbon advertising all over that city! I guess it's like being in Los Angeles and seeing all the billboards for upcoming movies.
