ACC Championship - Tiebreakers???

Post by smuhype »

Is anyone out there clear on tie breakers if Clem, Miami, and SMU end up in a 3 way tie?

I have looked and can't seem to get the clarity I am looking for.

Already booked a ticket just in case.

Let's GO Ponies!!!!

Rules: https://www.si.com/college/pittsburgh/news/pitt-panthers-acc-new-tiebreaker-rules

Because none of the three would have played each other, and all would be undefeated, I think you go down the list of potential tiebreakers to the conference-game winning percentage of each team's ACC opponents. So basically, aside from hoping Clemson or Miami drops a game, hope that ACC teams that are on SMU's schedule do well in other ACC games, and the reverse for teams on Clemson's and Miami's schedules.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: the chances of all 3 teams winning out are very slim.

Many people have said this before and I'll say it again: we just have to win one game -- the next game.

Very cool that they're boiling it down to Miami, Clemson and us. I have yet to see a mention of the suggestion that Puke or Pitt might go undefeated instead of us.

Duke cannot go undefeated. And I did see some mentions of Pitt.

So without getting too personal, how are you handling the "rooting for your team" thing this Saturday?

No worries. ItΓÇÖs not great fun but easy enough. SMU needs this more and SMU winning is better for the conference.

Looks like Miami fans hate the ACC.
