Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?!?!I noticed that the athletic department has asked us to wear blue for the TCU, Pitt, and Cal games. Why are we not "encouraged" to wear red for schools that have their colors as blue (Pitt and Cal are blue, but TCU is closer to blue than red)? These should be "wear red" games. And then I saw the "icy white" uniforms have blue as the secondary color as we go to Duke. Why is the secondary color not red as we dive into a sea of blue with these places???
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team? Not a good time to rock the boat.
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?I don't care. IOt shows solidarity with the team. And it looks impressive o TV. It would be nice to have a little more forethought about colors but this is our first rodeo in the ACC. WE never did this type of thing during the SWC days. Communication advancements have added a new dimension.
I'll give our PR department a little slack as this is new to SMU. That said, as a season ticket holder I pray my section doesn't have Red cause I prefer blue or white. ![]()
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?I’ve wondered the same but go with the requests. I wish we had a red Mustang on the white uniform helmets but we’re winning so I’m not complaining.
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?
My thoughts exactly, I hope all Mustang fans at the game will wear red so we can see them among all the blue devils.
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?UVA is blue and orange, so I guess we either wear red or white?
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?Years ago there was a school of thought that if, say, Tulsa (lot of blue) came to town, and our fans wore blue, then photos of our fans would have a sea of blue behind them, making it appear as if the place was packed with our fans.
Don't know if that's the thinking of the current administration or not.
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?
This was the answer I had heard years ago, but who knows!
Re: Why do we keep wearing the same color as the other team?
I think it’s the best answer—basically the same thing ponyte speculated as well—and particularly at the TCU game it absolutely erased the Frog purple. ![]()
