Talk to Orsini about them. He found them serious enough to fire Tubbs. We are all still awaiting the full explanation. You are simply assuming nothing else has been found.

Where was Orsini quoted as firing Tubbs for burgers and Cheer? Please show me.

Sounds like you are just stating your opinion.

I am. I don't think Copeland fired him after having cancer surgery.

But you have the nerve to berate Hoop Fan for stating what you consider to be his opinion? At least he has something to back it up, whereas yours is admittedly rank speculation.

Newsflash: Hoop Fan's "opinion" is ten times more worthwhile than yours. BTW, that's just my opinion...

Hoopfan reported that he knew Tubbs had been cleared of the violations, not that it was his opinion. I am still waiting for the identity of his source.

Please read posts before making silly personal attacks.

I am in a really bad mood today(ask my paralegal; ask my assistant; ask my wife; ask the poor woman that waters the plants in my office that I yelled at for coming in while I was on the phone), so take everything I say today with that in mind.

Here goes:

I think it is sad that a SI writer gives SMU's coaching hire an “A” and the discussion deteriorates quickly into a rehash of the same cr@p we have been discussing ad nauseum for a month.

I can deal with cynicism; I can deal with pessimism. Still, I don’t understand how SMU sports fans can simultaneously be both self-pitying and self-loathing. How about a modicum of optimism, people? I am not talking about breaking into song, but please get over yourselves.

In the span of two months, SMU has hired an AD and a basketball coach far better than most of us expected SMU to get. A renovated Moody and practice facility has been "planned" for almost ten years, and in the span of a month, those plans have gone form gathering dust to the point where I am about ready to a bet a twelve pack with anybody here that they break ground within twelve months.

I mean, cr@p, people. Quit [deleted] at eachother. It is kind of pathetic. It really is.

SMU: I'm a Matt Doherty guy. Always have been, and unless he eggs my house, always will be. Grade: A.

The writer thinks he's super, thanks for asking!!! Sounds kinda man lovey to me.

oh my god, are you dense. If you are going to quote somebody, how about quoting the whole thing? I did not say I guarantee the assertion, I said i guarantee that my source is more credible than your 'non-source'. Capeche? I very clearly said it was "credible hearsay" only. What about that is so hard to comprehend? I gave you the caveat that it was hearsay. You provide nothing.

You know what it is. Some people really do not want SMU to succeed. It is kind of like the Cubs in baseball. They are the lovable losers. If they succeed than there is not much of a story. Honestly, most people on this board would have nothing to talk about if it was not to [deleted] about what might have been, could have been, or might be. Complaining is the American way.

I don't care that you hold a different opinion of Tubbs than me. I have nothing against you. It does surprise me than you take criticism of Tubbs so personally. I am glad that you care about SMU Basketball so much and attend all the games.

However, when you claim to have special sources, you should not be surprised to find people skeptical. You have said nothing about this person's relationship to OU basketball. To me, if you do know someone that has this knowledge, you should tell Calvin Watkins. He would be glad to do a story about how Tubbs has been cleared in connection with those allegations. I also would honestly like to know more about the OU situation--and the SMU situation.

i take unfair and inaccurate criticism of anybody seriously. I dont care if it is Tubbs or Joe Blow. Once again, what about hearsay dont you understand? I was giving hearsay and clearly labeled it as such. What are you talking about with this going to Calvin with my hearsay nonsense? i'm done. my apologies to the rest of you for the tangent. But you are not obligated to read this stuff.
