Friday vs. Mississippi State

Post by PonyPride »

Going to miss watching/posting in the game thread while en route to Virginia. I'll be on later to add Numbers and Notes, etc., and to read the thoughts of those of you who watch and can chime in.
Thanks

Disappointing game and crowd but I guess a lot of loyal SMU fans were on their way to Charlottesville where things turned out really well. Coach and players said fans were engaged and did great but could have used another 1,000 or more in the seats at Moody. I'm expecting the ACC games will be packed and crazy like Ford has been. It can really help in close games late

I was surprised that there were about one-third State fans. They had some talent but we had more height. Their big guys fouled out at the end. It was a bit disappointing that State came from 11+ down to take a solid lead down the stretch.

My biggest complaint with the crowd was that it was DEAD! There were plenty of fans there to rock Moody, but everyone just sat there. The students were lame as well, and it was just a strange atmosphere. I don't think SMU fans were respecting Mississippi State as a basketball power. This team has talent, they just have to figure out how to make the plays in crunch time against the good teams. Too many missed free throws and layups.

LSU needs to improve to top 50 to be a Quad 1 win. They improved a spot to 66 last night after losing to Auburn.

Butler is only Quad 2 loss, or ANY non-Q1 loss. They're at #85 and need to crack top 75. Need to win at G-Town tomorrow evening and then at The Hall next Wednesday. That would push all losses to Q1 but ultimately need a Q1 win.
