Re: Other games of interest
Interesting to see Kentucky lead by SR and JR players under new Coach Mark Pope. Duke on the other hand continues to rely heavily on FR so they tend to improve significantly as the season wears onindianmustang wrote:Duke lost to kentucky

Cuse is 2-0 but barely beat LeMoyne and Colgate at home in front of over 19k fans.
Eddie Lampkin, previously at TCU, led the way last night with a double double.

Re: Other games of interest
Been trying to catch the Rice games since they have our coach and three former players.
Emory Lanier is starting and Denver Anglin is getting significant minutes off the bench. Was a bit surprised that Jalen Smith is red shirting this season as he would be one of their top players. I guess Coach Lanier is already writing off this season and wants to build a roster around Jalen next year and beyond. Seemed like they mutually decided this just days before the first game.

Lanier and Anglin hitting just 20% and 26% of their FGs respectively. Lanier with 3 assists vs 9 turnovers but they are at least making FTs and contributing almost 5 points each per game. Jalen reportedly has an "undisclosed" injury that could be behind any RS decision and there is also the value of getting a degree from Rice so he would certainly benefit from another scholarship year.shadowman wrote:Been trying to catch the Rice games since they have our coach and three former players.

Re: Other games of interest
Denver Anglin had 20 points in Rice's 20 point win against Louisiana last night. Had to check his stats and see that in 5 games he's now averaging 9 points per game, has only 1 assist but only 2 turnovers and no steals. He didn't play at SMU to know what kind of player he might be but it would appear he's a "shoot first" kind of guard. Emory Lanier did not play last night but he's been filling up stat sheets and has been very active.

There’s always a chance, but both of those games tonight are likely losses.
