Yes, 17 penalties for 137 yards! Many unsportsmanlike penalties which is the ultimate selfish penalty.
This kind of play will not get it done next week or any week going forward.

This has been a recurring theme with SMU play this year. We are lucky we were playing an opponent we easily out classed. We will not have that luxury next week.

Several of the penalties were half-the-distance penalties. So we could have had another 20-30 yards worth if they had taken place on a different part of the field.

YouΓÇÖre correct and I saw quite a few of our guys called for unsportsmanlike penalties complaining that a Cal player ΓÇ£started it.ΓÇ¥ That doesnΓÇÖt matter or excuse anything, of course. Nice to get the reminder to knock it off in a 32-point blowout, at least.
