Does anyone know what the Weber complex added to the 32k capacity?

Where does Ford put an 8,000 seat expansion?

Just my two cents… these need to be our first priorities:

1. Our corridors are too tight - did you notice how crowded they were during halftime at our games?

2. Lines at the men’s restrooms (especially at halftime) - it was a chunk of time to take care of business. Not sure how it was for the ladies.

3. The patch of grass/hill where the DJ was located needs to become a new coral for our growing band (and then let the band parents sit in that far upper east side section that always appears to be less full). This would open another section for our students.

4. Northwestern’s new stadium will be 35,000. We are just 3,000 off that number. We DO need to have a growth mindset and plan in place (and maybe we do). In my opinion, we will likely never need more than 40,000 in capacity.

5. And, while I’m wishing - how about some of those cool lights like they had in Charlotte? Excellent gameday fun!

Not sure how you expand the corridors, but yeah, they're tight. And the line for Mi Cocina at 101 is eye-popping. Put mambo taxi stands at like seven other concession areas.

The only reason I'd like to see an upper-deck element on the east side is that it just looks so much more big-time than the single bowl we've got. There's a reason both Baylor and TCU included second decks when they built/rebuilt what are still small stadiums--it just reads better as a big-time venue. Oh, and Duke's "Devils' Deck" experiment seems to have gone well: basically a beer club for students and young alumni to visit during the game that replaced the last few rows of low-value end-zone seats.

Totally agree on the corridors, the architects missed on that. I think they could do a pop out all the way around to enlarge it and improve concessions. Also, why are there only 2 food trucks max in the new outdoor space? I miss Ruthies, and it would really be nice to have more options.

I saw a stadium map that now lists capacity at 35000. The old capacity was 32000.

I vote for the upper deck. It will help attract home and home games with large fan base teams like Texas Tech, A&M, and Arkansas. Texas possibly too.
May the forth be with us.

I have casually talked to a couple of people who know more than me. They say that there is a psychological impact involving recruits and a 40k minimum stadium. See TCU and Baylor. I'm also told that any construction on the east side would include a sizable number of club or suite level seats topped by a small grandstand addition with some sort of protective shade above. Air conditioning is a draw to my generation (60+).

The other reason the upper deck could be warranted is to help with acoustics.

It’s seems like even at full capacity it isn’t quite as loud as it could be due to the noise escaping. Closing in the east side would help with that one would think.

After reading - Here are some thoughts.
1. As on the west side for food trucks. Expand the footprint of east corridors to include all brick area all the way to the street. The put a crowd pleaser and more vendor kiosks. Basically, gain ground for gates 1,2,3.

2. Like the idea of SMU being a hard ticket to get... so when we sell out 2-3 years then we look at a deck on the East side. It was in the 2001 plans and Footing might already be poured. Long time ago to remember. Like to Cornerstone plan, the deck would be built with each ticket sole for the first 5 years.

3. When there were less vendors in the corridor space it was easier to walk around - So look at vendor restructuring/placement and their footprint in the corridor. Two feet on this side and two feet here.

Merry Christmas and Go Mustangs!!!
