Harrison-Hunte, Roberts Accept Invites To East-West Shrine Bowl

Story LinksARLINGTON, Texas (Shrine Bowl/SMU) ΓÇô Mustangs defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte and defensive end Elijah Roberts have accepted invites to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl at AT&T Stadium on January 30.

The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. An important part of America's football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience.

Harrison-Hunte recorded 42 tackles this season with 18 being solo. He also had 8.5 TFLs with 6.5 sacks.

Against Boston College, he recorded a season-high six tackles and eclipsed three tackles on 10 different occasions this season.

Roberts had a solid season this year, recording 35 tackles, 17 solo, and 11 TFLs. The graduate student also had 7.5 sacks, with two fumbles forced and one fumble recovery.

Against Florida State, he recorded six tackles and six QB hurries. He also has eclipsed four tackles four times this season.

The Miami native is also a leader in the locker room, being named one of six Mustang captains prior to the season.

I asked Santa Claus for a few more defensive linemen who play like these guys.
Whether they come from Miami or not, I don't care.
Going to enjoy watching them both in the NFL.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

Looking at the photo of Jared Harrison-Hunte on today's cover caused me to look at the 2-deep from the Penn State game and I see that 11 or our 17 OL & DL are listed as SRs or Grad Students. Our coaching staff has a huge challenge to rebuild both lines for the 2025 season, no question about that!

Any idea how many more transfers will be brought in?

Not sure but with 8 incoming transfer OL/DL and 7 incoming FR I can't imagine there is any more room unless someone else transfers out?
