You can blame TCU for that one. That was supposed to be their game.

Northwestern has 3 non-conference home games scheduled in 2026 but an open date on 9/5. Maybe we could invite them to open 2026 at Ford and schedule home/home games with them. That would give us 7 home games in 2026 and help fill a future non-conference schedule as well.

Assuming Preston plays for the Wildcats in 2025, will he still have eligibility in 2026? If so, I don't think any of us want to see him back in Ford, but in purple.

We can only have 4 non-conference games (unless we play at Hawaii). So, we are already maxxed out on 2026 OOC games. We'd have to cancel Baylor or ND which I don't see happening.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Forgot that Notre Dame counts as a non-conference game. They already have a game on 9/5 so we'll have to open against an ACC opponent. Hopefully that will be part of a high profile nationally televised ACC game

After a quick look ahead, it looks like we have Florida State on our 2026 schedule and both teams have that 9/5 date open at this point. ESPN looking ahead to Jennings' SR season and an opening game vs FSU?

That should be interesting. I presume the game will be in Tallahassee?
