SI: P4 schools & Deloitte will regulate NIL + other $??

Post by Dukie »

This seems nuts, and it's hard to see how student-athletes and collectives that aren't controlled by the school can be subjected to audit-firm oversight given the larger legal status?

But SI says that it's true.

Another question is whether schools on the outside of the P4 could take advantage of still being in the wild west, so to speak: say if the FedEx dude decides to give Memphis a huge advantage.

I am going to have to learn more about this before I sign on. Caps?
Stop wild wild west with... you can only transfer once and you have to show progress for a degree.
Unless your coach leaves.

Once permission was given for multiple transfers, taking it back would be much more difficult.

Also, why have it monitored?

Even after schools start paying athletes directly, there's nothing that says a business owner can't strike additional deals with athletes, is there?

The genie is out of the bottle. Can't shove it back in.
