Robert Lee Fisher, SMU 1976 -1980, TE has passed away.
Bob and I were Freshmen and TE together.
Bob was the Boys Club Boy of the Year in 1976 in California. He was athletic, dynamic and a great person.
He was one of the few high quality recruits in Coach Ron Meyer's first recruiting class. He plays 3 years in the NFL and one year in the USFL.
Later he became VP of western sales for Turtle Wax.
Bob had a very out going personality. Always good humor unless someone crossed him. Then he was a real warrior. He played hard and was a 12th round draft pick.
His passing brings me much grief and I extend my most heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
He was one of a kind and one of the foundations for the future success of SMU football.

Man IΓÇÖm sorry to heard that. I was in the dorm room next to him. When they got back early in the morning from I believe an Arkansas win he burst in our room, picked me up and slammed me back on my bed screaming we won! we won! Always watched the Bears when he was playing. One massive dude.
