Man, feels weird to root for Duke and UNC in the tourney after hating them for so many years, but I got make that adjustment and just do it!
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

At least NC State hiring Will Wade is a step in the right direction. Hopefully the Florida schools' hires go well also, and I don't know anything about Luke Loucks but that his intro press conference was great, and I expect Jai Lucas to do well. But yeah, this year is now simply about hoping that Stanford and uNC (gross) overperform, and Duke and SMU meet seeding expectations.

UNC goes down. Pretty poor NCAA tourney for the ACC. First tie since 1975 that the ACC didn't have at least 2 teams advance to the round of 32.

All of a sudden SMU and Stanford in the NIT look better. Still, Duke has to be my team in the March Madness tourney.

Not necessarily in response to you, but for all the other I-can't-believe-I-have-to-root-for-Duke people, the Duke board is very supportive of SMU.

As ponyte posted, this was a near historically bad year for the ACC so our timing was good to at least be competitive in year one. Everyone has to step up their games next year. Easy for me to pull for Duke as I adopted them when we lived in Durham between '87-'91 and got to watch the Laettner/Hurley Final Four teams

Used to be a Judson Blue Devil, just north of Longview, so IΓÇÖll pull for Duke.
May the forth be with us.

Kinda like Duke but always disliked coach K. One of the whiniest coaches I've seen in person. Saw them play at Miami a couple of times. He kept complaining to the refs that the 100 UM students in attendance were too rowdy  .

Meanwhile, with SMU and Stanford both knocked out of the NIT yesterday, it's up to Duke to show the country ACC basketball was not a total failure this year. It's down to Duke against the SEC's 7 teams, Big XII's 5 teams and B1G's 4 teams. No Cinderella this year unless you consider # 10 seed Arkansas to be that team. Hard to envision a Calipari coached team in that role

Big 12 only has four, but otherwise yes. What a debacle of a year.

We can only hope Duke wins it all to salvage at least a little bit of respect for the ACC
