So Lee Corso is retiring...

Post by peruna81 »

from College GameDay this August 30th. His schtick was entertaining and a part of many Saturday mornings.

Although I can't remember him ever picking SMU, I do remember his epic FCC violation while picking Cougar High, and his rather brisk apology afterwards. I also remember his battle with the debilitating effects of a stroke, and the other members at the desk kindly walking him through sets. Fair winds and following seas.

Gotta think ESPN went with the obligatory 5 second delay after that one, though...

10 or 20 years too late. He has been a carnival sideshow for years. The way Herbstreit and Desmond Howard had to humor him in recent years had been embarrassing.

Embarrassing for ESPN maybe, but dignified of Herbstreit and Howard for doing it in a graceful way.

He picked SMU over Memphis a few years back in the game where would have one if we any semblance of a kicking game.

So true. They were pros about it.
But someone at the network should have cut it off years ago.

I appreciate how much love and respect the crew has for coach, but heΓÇÖs been so painful to watch these last few years.
