With a quick nerdy search, it looks like the last time SMU was played at home on TX/OU Saturday was 2009 with a loss vs Navy. This year we host Stanford. I would think that this has been a conscious decision in years past not to go against that game in fair park.
I’m assuming that this year it is a conscious decision to go against that game in Fairpark.
Could be a good litmus test to see what our fans choose.

It seems like it's time to be able to make this work. Texas-OU isn't a game that draws the casual fan. It's for diehards. And everyone else stays away from the Fair that day. (Which is kind of a mistake, because so long as you DART or Uber and don't fight for gameday parking, those are three-and-a-half great hours to visit.)Meadowsman wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 7:36 pm With a quick nerdy search, it looks like the last time SMU was played at home on TX/OU Saturday was 2009 with a loss vs Navy. SMU should have no trouble filling Ford if the season is going well. I do hope it's a night game, though.

The Stanford game will be our second-least-intriguing home game of the season (the first being this weekend's home game). So I don't think it will mean much if the stands aren't full.

If you’re going to either of our games the first two weekends in October, from out of town, I suggest you book hotel rooms now.
