He already was doing a lot of WR-ing, splitting out wide in many formations, etc. He'll be a real headache for defenses, as he's too big and strong for many DBs, and he can separate from LBs.

Makes sense for all the tactical reasons , but it also reduces contact at the LOS, which will be good for the knee.

I get the impression he would be used as a slot TE, if such a thing exists.

The TE room has enough talent to put 4 TEs on the field at the same time. Talk about nightmares for a defense. Run? Pass? RPO? And with Jennings' versatility what is a D coordinator to do?

Sure, I'm bias where TEs are involved. And it has been a dream of mine to flood a defense with talented, versatile TEs. This year, it could become a reality.

Definitely an opportunity for Rhett and his offensive staff to be creative with their attack

Players and coaches both have talked about how the emergence of Matt Hibner after Maryland's injury last year, plus the evolution of Adam Moore, Stone Eby, Tripp Riordan, etc., will allow them to be more creative (remember, OC Casey Woods also is the TEs coach).

Seems unlikely that we'll see much that in the opener, though. Should be pretty vanilla, right?

One would think the coaches, if they have some very different use of positions, talents, formations and plays, would wait until the heart of the competitive season.

Perhaps wait until the second half when coaches have less time to make adjustments. Bring in 4 TEs on a short yardage play and go hurry up without subs.

Tend to agree with this. Might speak to what we have at WR?

The idea of having a 2 TE formation with 2 legit All-American TE's and an even better OL is making me giddy with excitement. Seriously.

The idea that Maryland is so good we could actually afford to put three out there would be something I don't think any opposing coach could see coming....
