Diamond: Isn't that the wrong date?
Berger: No not Love Field.
This is American Eagle out of DFW.
Southwest Airlines is already sold out of the discount fares and the fare SW is offering for these basic same times to Lubbock that weekend are $229 vs the $131 on American.

It won't take long to 'load that plane up with Mustang supporters', my friends. That's a puddle jumper to Lubbock that holds about 30 people, I think.
Heck, if you're at DFW you're halfway to Lubbock already! Just drive.
Wish we were going. (and, yes...I'd drive!)

I think it holds 75. There is another American Eagle at noon. I flew AAEagle last week, it has the convenience of SW at DFW.

re: "thats a puddle jumper to Lubbock that holds about 30 people"
I just called American Airlines and they said both the flights I mentioned are jets.
Outboud Flight = Jet w/capacity of 70 people Return Flight = Jet w/capacity of 50 people

Special D.: Didn't mean to imply that they weren't jets. They're just 'small jets'. Either way, hope everyone has fun! Again, wish we were going, too!
But why is it 20 seats less returning? Will the Mustangs be leaving some folks behind in Lubbock? God, I hope not!!!

Yeah those American Eagle planes are jets. They are those Brazillian jobbers - the Embraers. They're really pretty cool, and the flight is about a thousand times smoother than you expect when you see those tiny guys.
Great flying experience, unfortunately no beer/mixed drinks.
(I fly American between Austin and Dallas a great number of times, and it's always on the Embraer.)

Perhaps SMU will set up a charter flight to take a bunch out west. Hopefully at a decent price.

The Mustang Club is not providing transportation. I hear they are trying to get some rooms at the team hotel though. This $138.00 is a great deal, I bought my ticket on the 9:00am flight yesterday!

And how can we find out about the hotel deal?

It's funny that AA gets grief for high ticket prices and they blow away Southwest on this one.
