Southwest was lower priced and had many more time options. They just sold out quicker.

This is American Eagle out of DFW.
Southwest Airlines is already sold out of the discount fares and the fare SW is offering for these basic same times to Lubbock that weekend are $229 vs the $131 on American.
Ooooops. Wrong weekend, you are correct. Next time I should check the schedule before surfing the net.
That's what I get for trying to do a quick surf at work while trying to perform my job functions.
I will do better in the future.
Just send 'da money.

...so I'm about to book myself on Continental to go to Lubbock. One question, though...what are the chances of TT moving the game up like A&M did last year for FoxSW or some such? 6pm is ideal, and I'm screwed if they move it. That 100 change fee plus the fare difference wasn't much fun last year.

I called SMU officials, and they said the game will not be on the tube. I hope Mustang fans will find a way to get out to Lubbock. We don't play in a big time environment very often.

What are the best hotel options for the SMU faithful Saturday night in Lubbock? (I know the best option is not to stay in that hell-hole called Lubbock, but I could not get a late enough flight out of Lubbock back to Dallas on Saturday night).
btw - I booked on AA today and got $88 plus tax, round trip.

1. Holiday Inn - downtown - it's about two miles from Jones SBC Stadium. You won't find many restaurants near it though.
2. Comfort Suites - South Loop 289. I really do like this hotel, while it's nothing fancy it's always very nice. It could use an elevator, however.
3. Holiday Inn - South Loop 289 - never stayed here before but I've heard it's ok
All the restaurants tend to be on the Loop or on Slide Road (from my experience at least). If you are traveling with your family, I recommend the Caboose restaurant at 50th Street and Slide Road.

No, its not. I got that fare on #3407 to Lubbock on Saturday and #3660 to DFW on Sunday.

"Caboose" reminds me of the Copper Caboose (restaurant/bar). I remember it as being in the proximity of Jones Stadium. Know if it is still there? There was also a football themed restaurant a little farther out... mostly Tech decor, but a lot of SWC stuff. Great little blueberry muffins to go with dinner... Forty Yard Line or something like that..... been a while.

Yes, the old Copper Caboose is still there. It's on Avenue Q (US 84) between 50th and 58th street (EDIT:56th street to be exact). The old one is more for the college/adult crowd; if you have kids I'd recommend the 50th Street location. Great food at both places.

La Quinta on Brownfield Highway (it's called the Medical Center La Quinta) is where we always stay. Continental breakfast available.
