No, that was rhetorical.

Bamba is a legit Big Man in my book.

Wish he could come and live at my house over the summers and I could cook into bigger shape.

I like his potential, especially on defense, but you've nailed his problem. If he weighed 270, I'd agree with you. In my book, a legit big man does not look like a stick figure.

I think first he needs to "feed his head" so he is eligible next year...

His game reminds me of UT's incoming freshman Kevin Durant.....long, thin, with a nice shot and a huge upside. But as you can see, we are fighting the biggest of the big boys for his one year of college basketball.
He'll probably go to Wacko for whatever reason :?

Another kid who brings up my argument:
If he ends up in Wack-o, the NCAA should set up a satellite office down there.

Has anyone heard more on the supposed oral commitment from PG William Eddie out of Detroit? He is ranked top 10 in Michigan for the '07 class as I recall from an article posted here on the board.

There are 5 Michigan players in the rivals top 150 for 2007 so it is possible Eddie isn't far from being rated a top 150 prospect by rivals. I would imagine Alex Malone is not too, too far off from being ranked somewhere near that top 150 as well.

The prospects listed in this thread seem to be pretty damn good, glad to see we are in the mix for these guys. Although I try to be optomistic, I would be absolutely shocked if the Randolph kid landed here considering the offers he has on the table.

There is no way that Malone is close to being ranked in rivals top 150. He is only ranked 69 in the state and is just not near big enough or skilled enough to even be considered in national rankings.

Some articles (most a bit dated on William Eddie)

This article is over a month old so (and not certain if Ryan Harp commit affects this) but we were in running for Kris Richard

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/news?slug ... recruiting

"As one might expect, recruiting interest has picked up for Richard. In addition to Virginia, Arizona State, SMU, Oklahoma, Wichita State, Rice, Cincinnati and Texas A&M have been actively recruiting the talented guard.

So when did Virginia get involved?

"I started hearing from them after the Kingwood Classic, and I talk to Coach (Steve) Seymour off and on," Richard said. "I know they're looking for a guard to come in and play, and he said he likes my game and that I'm everywhere on the court."

Richard described himself as a combo guard and when asked about his style of play added, "I think I'm a floor general, and I get my teammates involved. But I can score if I have to."

On the other end of the spectrum, Richard knows that he will have to get stronger to play at the college level and adding weight and strength is a priority, so much so that he has been working with a personal trainer.

As for a college decision, don't expect one soon.

"I'm definitely going to take my visits," Richard said. "I don't want to rush into a decision."

As of now, Richard has four schools on his list that he would like to visit.

"Arizona State, SMU, Wichita State and Virginia are schools that I know I want to visit," he said. "I'll be looking at whether I am comfortable with that school's environment and what the recruiting class and roster look like."

Richard currently maintains a 3.14 grade point average and scored 1,190 on the SAT."

I am glad Malone is still committed. I see him and Harp playing alongside eachother for 4 good years...hopefully Eddie can contribute, and we can still get another good impact recruit or two

As XTC has already reported Eddie's father has just accepted a job on the staff at Central Michigan and the rumor is he is definitely going to follow his father to Central Michigan.
