Talk about recruiting.
The directors of the Mustang Band have so far recruited 32 freshmen for next year. As of now, they should field a band of about 80 members (up from 58 last year). That is a 38% increase in the band's size.
Great job directors!!
Just send 'da money.

I hope they keep growing a lot. That's one thing that always bothered me, when I was in school and when I came back to Dallas as an alum. The band always sounded good, but it sounded so small, I'd love to see and hear a full-size band filling up the stadium with sound.

Per Mrs. RGV, the daughter of a family friend is one of those 32. Her parents should put a few more bodies in Ford this year.
Can't wait to hear how much louder they sound. And I'm pumped they're going to Raiderland...I know that's one of the most common questions asked over on their board regarding this game.

That is 22 more people than last year, plus some of their parents adds about 45-50 people to every game, that's what we need to do keep adding, growing a fan base well help SMU improve, and they will do better this year. I am thinking they will have a winning record, possibly a bowl bid.
GO PONIES!!!

A little bit of all.
The new director (Don Hopkins) and the assistant director (Tommy Tucker) have been visiting high schools and promoting the Mustang Band. The University increased the scholarship and travel budget (Dr. Turner really wants the band at Tech), and the Diamond M Club added over $25K to this years scholarship budget.
When everyone works together, it is amazing what can happen. The Diamond M Club appreciates all the ponyfans that have joined and help support the Mustang Band. For more information, please visit www.diamondmclub.org.

GO PONIES!!!
We had 22 freshman incoming last year, not as many retained. The tech game should be fun, a bunch of old friends are gonna be there.

They need to come here to Robinson. We have 200 members in Band (Largest band in 3A) and we don't have a school were they all seem to go too.
btw, I'm the Tenor Sax section leader this year

Also, two straight 2nd place finishes at state, both to Canton. We feature alot of good players. In my grade (07') we have 3 or 4 kids that will have 4 straight years of being All-State.
