Can you say Anti-Trust?Will Congress Claim a Role? Who picks the winners? Why Wake Forest, and not Tulane? Why Baylor, and not BYU? Interesting.

Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?Maybe the good that will come of this is that the BCS gets destroyed and we can start over again on a level playing field. It is clearly a violation of antitrusat law. Even I can see that and I'm not a lawyer. You just have to step on the wrong person's toes to get some action.
Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?I look for Congress to meddle in this at some time. There are powerful men from not so powerful football states that may want to break up this cartel.
Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?Like I suggested in my "Lawsuit" posts the other day, the anti-trust issue is real. Very good article.
Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?Perhaps we also need to get Laura Bush to "brief" George on the importance of this issue to her dear old alma mater.

Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?Good thought, Stallion.
I was a Classmate (1968) of Laura Welch. She got the Mustang Band and Cheerleaders to the 2000 Inauguration. Pony Up
Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?Cool! Call up your old classmate and ask her to drop hints around the White House.
Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?This thing doesn't seem all that complicated. Basketball is already running the "right way". If this round of restructuring leads to fewer conferences, but all consisting of 12-14 members, the stage is set for every conference champ and several wild cards (all from the most powerful conferences, just like bball) to participate in a 16 school playoff...just like I-AA already does very successfully today.

Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?The Congress and Senate can thump their chest as much as they want, in this country they could never prohibit Miami from improving on a $1.4M athletic loss. Just some schmucks trying to get votes for 2004.
As far as anti-trust goes... the BCS already avoided anti-trust with the inclusion of the Top 6 rule for the non-BCS conferences.
Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?yeah tell that to Bill Gates and the Rockefellers moron.

Re: Can you say Anti-Trust?Charleston, if you add 1-AA, II, III to that, you get all 50 states. However, you then get to which colleges have the best lobbies. In Texas would UT, A&M, TT, and Baylor make more noise than UNT, TCU, SMU, UH, Rice, SWTS, SHS, etc. In La. would LSU make more noise, than La. Tech, Laf., Mon., Tulane. You get my drift.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
